Highland Lake Cremation Center has a compassionate team ready to take care of everything for cremation from beginning to end. Over the years, we’ve learned something very valuable: having a gathering where family and friends have the opportunity to say goodbye to a loved one sets the stage for the healing process which follows. It doesn’t have to be an elaborate event. The most important part is in the “coming together” to share memories and receive comfort from one another. It can be a very simple ceremony or one where the personality and lifetime achievements of your loved one are showcased.
Simple cremation is just that, simple. It is simply a cremation. We will transfer your loved one into our care, and cremation will take place immediately following the completion of all permits and paperwork. A Simple Cremation does not include a service.
Let us take the burden off you by opening our place to welcome your family and friends. We will create a dedicated two-hour period for people to drop by, like an open house, and share condolences with your family.
Many families these days don’t want a big fuss over having a funeral- yet they do understand the healing that comes from gathering. With cremation, if there is no service, then there is no time set aside for people to acknowledge the death of your loved one.
An “Intimate Come and Go” is a dedicated time for friends and family to offer genuine encouragement, reassure you, and share their compassion and love for what you are going through. We often hear from our community that they want to show emotional support to grieving friends.
You are welcome to bring photos or mementos to display. We will help you create a video and assist in developing a personalized Spotify playlist for the event. We want this to be very simple and easy for you. Our goal is for this time together to be healing for everyone.
Memorial services help families, and the community take the first step toward healing in the grieving process. The service creates a place, time, and space dedicated to celebrating a life well lived in a personal way. Whether a brief ceremony or one where the personality and lifetime achievements are showcased, our Directors will help you create a unique service that supports your family, allows everyone to say goodbye, and an opportunity to share memories. We can host the Memorial Service at our Cremation Center, at your church, or another location in the community.
If you choose to host the event in another location, we will care for you every step of the way. We simplify the process and coordinate all parties involved (speakers, venue, florist, newspapers, etc.). Your role is to be surrounded by those who love you. We also pride ourselves in creating a welcoming and peaceful environment for those joining you.
For many families, gathering around a table for a meal signifies connection. The people we loved the most sat there with us. We shared more than a meal; we shared stories, and we shared life. Together, we remembered where we’ve traveled, and we dreamed of where we might go one day.
Pausing during grief to share a meal with people we care about can be very healing, food for the soul. So, let us help you take this next step toward healing. We will set the table, prepare the toast, and have the food ready and waiting. All you need to do is invite up to 20 family and friends to come. Let this time together be a time to create memories with warm stories, smiles, and laughter to compliment the tears.
You are welcome to bring photos or mementos to display. We will help you create a video and playlist to provide a personal ambiance. We want this gathering to be effortless for you. We hope that everyone will leave feeling blessed and full of love by gathering around the table to pause and remember your loved one.
Many people want to scatter the ashes of their loved ones in a place that holds meaning, but they don't know what is legal or how to go about doing it. So, let us help you take the guesswork out of water burial and help you make your loved one's wish a reality.
Water burial is an attractive alternative to internment because it connects our loved one's resting place with a place where they loved to spend time. Water burial is a means of returning to nature, and although there is no headstone or grave to visit, loved ones can always return to the exact spot of water burial for remembrance.
We will help you create an intimate water burial service. We carefully prepare your loved one's cremated remains and place them in a biodegradable urn, ready to set sail whenever you desire. Our Funeral Directors arrange a care package with instructions to use during your private send-off ceremony. Your family can implement the water burial service at a place of significance to you and at a convenient time for your family.
Highland Lake Funeral Directors will help you customize your water burial service by discussing ceremonial options and providing you with a care package to use during the ceremony based on your desires. Typically, the ceremony will last about twenty minutes, and include a variety of elements including, but not limited to, reading a poem, sharing tributes, singing songs, and a final farewell as you set your loved one to sail on peaceful waters. In addition, we provide you with rose petals and roses to use during the ceremony. As the urn descends below the water surface, it will begin to biodegrade.
Highland Lakes Funeral Directors will secure approval for water burial from the LCRA/Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. And you can find peace where the waters flow knowing you are adhering to these guidelines and are providing an environmentally friendly burial.
